Engaging Minds: Improving Student Retention through Best Practices
A two-year Erasmus+ collaboration developing evidence-based strategies to help students stay motivated, engaged, and connected to their learning journey.
Partners: Denmark · Finland · Sweden · Ireland
Project period: 2025–2027
A passion for student retention
Across Europe, many students struggle to remain engaged in school. The Engaging Minds project brings together educators, researchers, and innovation experts to understand why students disengage – and to co-create tools that help them thrive.
Understanding Student Disengagement
We investigate why students lose motivation and what factors influence early school leaving across Europe.
Gathering Insights From Educators
Educators share their experiences to help us map everyday challenges and opportunities.
Listening to Students’ Voices
Interviews and surveys ensure that students’ perspectives guide our solutions and reflect real needs.
Identifying Effective Practices
We analyse proven methods that strengthen motivation, participation, and belonging in the classroom.
Co-creating Practical Tools
Together with teachers, we design ready-to-use strategies and materials that support engagement in daily teaching.
Sharing Knowledge Across Europe
Newsletters, and open resources ensure that our results benefit schools throughout Europe.
